Within the framework of the study of the subject History in the Master's program Teacher Training at Gymnasiums, 'subject-related knowledge of Latin' is required for the registration of the module Master's thesis, no longer 'the Latinum' (decision of the examination board FüBa/Master LG of 19.05.2021).
Under 'Subject-related Latin knowledge', the Department of History provides for the attainment of the A2 level, certified by written evidence. This means that the students are able to access and translate simpler original-language source texts with the help of appropriate aids.
Please note that Leibniz Universität Hannover does not offer Latin courses and that this knowledge must be acquired externally. The Department of History cooperates with the Bildungsverein Hannover and encourages you to check the courses of this provider and to prefer them to other providers if necessary.
