Job advertisement in the context of the project "Ein Weltbad wie Pyrmont. Spa Town and National Socialism, 1918-'1968'"

As part of a project funded by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture to research and communicate Lower Saxony's cultural heritage, the Nazi history of the town of Bad Pyrmont, including its prehistory and posthistory, is now to be investigated and presented to the public as part of an exhibition subsequently financed by the town of Bad Pyrmont in the Museum im Schloss in Bad Pyrmont.

Student project members are expected to have the ability and willingness to research independently in local and regional archives under guidance and to place and present source findings in their historical context.

Approved are:

  • 9 Student Assistants (BA) over 32 hrs./month for a period of one year (e.g. 1.10.2023-30.09.2024 or from 1.1.2024)
  • 2 Research Assistants, ideally with MA degree, 86 hrs/month in duration of one year.
  • These positions may be shared, and the job share should not be less than 50%. Employment includes the possibility of preparing a proposal for external funding for the candidate's own PhD.

Students who can imagine writing a thesis, possibly followed by a doctorate, in the context of the project and participants of the seminar in WS 2023/24 "Ein Weltbad wie Pyrmont. Kurstadt und Nationalsozialismus, 1918-'1968' (or the course in WS 2022/23 by PD. Dr. Lu Seegers on the history of health resorts) are especially welcome.
