Overview of the Application Process

In the following section you will find information about the steps of the internal application and selection process and the subsequent modalities up to departure.

Until December, 15:
Submission of the internal application to the History Department.

January (institutes):
Selection of ERASMUS students by the respective ERASMUS exchange coordinator within the institutes.

Until February, 15 (students):
The nominated students must fill out the online form and submit a copy or pdf file to the administration office B (room B103) at the History Department by February, 15.

Until February, 15 (institutes):
The exchange coordinator (Prof. Dr. Reinwald) sends the lists for applicants, nominees and remaining places to the University Office for International Affairs.

March (University Office for International Affairs)
Nomination of ERASMUS candidates at the partner university: As a rule, between mid-February and mid-March, the students selected by the institutes are nominated at the partner universities, provided that the online application has been received in the HI's data system beforehand. The students are also informed about the further application process and the application deadlines by the partner university or should ask the partner university for this information themselves.

May to July(partner universities):
During this time period usually the official admission of the students by the partner university takes place.

Until July, 31 (students and institutes):
Submission of the printed online form with a photo, a copy of the letter of admission from the partner university and the declaration of acceptance of the mobility grant (to be found on the HI's homepage under “outgoings”) to the university office for international affairs in order to obtain financial support (approx. € 160-170 per month).
At the same time, a preliminary learning agreement (the form can also be found on the HI's homepage) should be filled in and signed by Prof. Reinwald together with the online form. This can be faxed by the administration office to the partner university on request.
